The expo was planned as a celebration of the completion of the railroad through the Alps – the Simlon tunnel. Located in Parco Real. Bezzera patented in 1901 the first espresso machine and it was shown at the World Fair in Milan this year.
The Expo was organised into 200 stands (including Sempione Park and Piazza D’armi) construction of Civic Aquarium is still today, one of the most representative buildings of the city built for the National Exposition. The exposition had approximately 10 milions of visitors from all over the world. The Expo in Milan ratified the economical rebirth of Milan consecrating it as Italian industrial capital.
